Egypt asks to write off 3.6 billion dollars of debt.

Egypt appealed the U.S. to write off the national debt in order to support the new government in creating new jobs for young people and the resumption of economic growth.

As stated by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of Arab Republic, Faiz Abu el-Naga, it is about 3.6 billion dollars.

“We ask our American friends to forgive us the debt”,  – she said, speaking in the Chamber of Commerce in Washington.

At the end of March this year, the representatives of Egypt’s Supreme Military Council said that the parliamentary elections in the country are scheduled for September 2011.

Recall, February 11, Mubarak, in power since 1981, resigned as the Head of Egypt. His resignation was preceded by anti-government demonstrations.

The Supreme War Council decided to dissolve Egyptian Parliament and suspend the constitution.

The Council plans to continue in power for six months – until the deadline for new presidential and parliamentary elections.
